Help!!! Why are my brakes sticking????

Ok, it is my 1999 Tahoe 2wd. I have replaced that Master cylinder and both front calipers and it still sticks real bad. Does anyone know what might be my problem. I can't think of anything else that would cause them to stick.

Could be the rubber lines are collapsing.

Re: Help!!! Why are my brakes sticking????

I have just looked at them. They look fine but I haven't replaced them. They don't stick all the time, but pretty frequently.

They may look fine but that doesn't mean they are. I'd get replacements front and rear.

Re: Help!!! Why are my brakes sticking????

All the brakes have been changed. It only sticks in the front and the brakes, calipers, and the master cylinder have been changed. So I am hoping someone else has had this problem with their chevy and could help me out. And when I said "I just looked at them" a couple of posts up, I was referring to the rubber hoses, not the brakes. The brakes have all been changed.

I don't mean to beat a dead horse but if all else has been changed, do the hoses. They can collapse when brakes are released and cause the brakes to stick.

My guess is he means the calipers are not releasing causing the pads to drag.

Re: Help!!! Why are my brakes sticking????

I'm no mechanic but I had this problem after being bagged the front brakes would stick on after driving a little. Mine problem ended up being really simple. The brake booster had been replace with a hot rod one and the nut inside need to be turned a couple times so the pin inside would not stick out too far keeping the brakes on when not hitting the pedal. You may be sticking between the booster and the master cylinder. Don't know if that helps or makes since, lol?

The rubber brake hoses can look perfect on the outside and be mush on the inside. "werd" on the hoses MANG!!!!!!

Re: Help!!! Why are my brakes sticking????

If its not the hoses, next culprit may be the abs

Re: Help!!! Why are my brakes sticking????

I unplugged the abs and it still sticks. And yes, by sticking, I mean the calipers are not releasing. I will change the rubber hoses and see if that helps.

Re: Help!!! Why are my brakes sticking????

Not to necropost or bump or anything, but I didn't know if it got fixed.

Anyhow, the culprit could be a couple of things. One, the rubber hoses could be failing, or clogged. 2, I'd replace the rotors. If there is any grease, oil, or brake fluid on the pads, they'll drag on the rotor, ironically enough. Lastly, if it is a floating caliper, pull out your floating pins and grease them up. I'd grease the caliper where it slides on the pins too, for good measure. If it's none of those, I suggest tweaking the power booster, like GOTDUBZ said.

Nope, he started driving towards the cliff and slammed on his brakes. And he's hung half way over the cliff, stuck.

His brakes are stuck so he can't back up and drive away, so he's just teater totering over a cliff.
