first gen prop vavle

so are the proportioning valves that are off of first gens adjustable?
or will it work right when i hook it up without adjusting anything?
i know the after market ones you have to adjust

and also is there a certain year from the fist gens i have to get it off of

you are getting proportioning valves and combination valves mixed up. a combination valve is what you want of a 1st gen or a aftermarket one. some new s-10s have they to. i got mine off e-bay from a 03. my 03 truck also has one.
a proportioning valve is what you use to limit the rear brakes from locking up.

ideally and the way i set mine up is master cylinder to combination valve. then a 2 psi residual valve on the front brake line before the new T that goes to each of the front brakes.then a 10 psi residual valve for the rear brakes. into a adjustable proportioning valve and out to the rear brakes.
actual read post #4 in that link and it explains all of it. but you have to read it.
