Factory S10 Rally wheel issue

Hey Everyone,
I recently bought a set of 15x7" S10 5 spoke rally wheels from the junkyard. they came off of a 2wd s10, around 1990 or so. $75 a set, could'nt go wrong there. They didn't come with trim rings or center caps, no biggie would've wanted to replace them anyway. Well, I finally got new tires mounted and put them on the truck. I purchased new S/S trim rings and aftermarket center caps. I get all the wheels on the truck, installed the trim rings, they fit great and look awesome. Go to install the centercaps, the snaps on them do not line up to the "tangs" on the wheels. Did I get an oddball set of wheels or am I missing something?? It's like the tangs that are supposed to engage onto the center cap are clocked wrong.
Can someone help me? I'm going to try to get pics up in a few mins...
thanks,
-Marc

Re: Factory S10 Rally wheel issue

ok, found a link for a picture of a wheel. The wheel is just like mine, notice how the metal tabs are clocked? The center caps i bought don't line up with the tabs, anyone have any idea what cap I need?? I would have to end up with odd ball wheels!!

These are the ones that fit the S-10 wheels, or least the ones that are on my S-10!

Your right the wheels you showed the clips have been either moved or installed wrong! The clip should be in front of the nut on the inside!!

Never seen the other center cap on a S-10!!

yea it always seems to be the sort of luck I have. I finally find a set of wheels in the junkyard that are cheap and decent, and they have to be some oddball set. They look good besides having no centercaps.
Can anyone help?

Re: Factory S10 Rally wheel issue

It is still a mystery about these rims, every cap I've looked at has the wrong clips.

Re: Factory S10 Rally wheel issue

Those rims also came on mid 80s camaro's. The metal tabs on the camaro rims are diffrent than s10 ones. I bet you got camaro rims not s10 even thow you got them off a s10. I ran into the same problem on one of my trucks, i bought camaro caps and they wouldnt fit becouse the tabs where diffrent.

Awesome! Thanks for the reply. I'll do some research and see if I can come up with something on here. The tabs are indeed clocked totally opposite as the S10 wheels. The truck I took them from looked like something that was pieced together.
Thanks again, I'll update on the outcome.
