i think its only needed in the rear if you want them to be flush with the front wheels...however, it will depend on the offset of the rears. i think the 19x10's are usually +79. the 19x12's are +59.

sorry man, i thought you meant you were going to try a 18x9.5...yea that 18x10.5 would stick out like that, the 9.5 fits better.

Re: Corvette Rims Thread

I guess I'll post my question here as well. 93 Sonoma 2wd.I just picked up a set of stock 1984 corvette wheels 16inch 8.5 inches wide I think the offset is 32mm . Here's a link: http://www.finishlinewheels.com/prodimg/ALY01347L.jpg
The car is getting a 3/4 drop with spindles and 1 inch drop springs leafs and blocks in the back. What do I need to make these fit on my truck?

Re: Corvette Rims Thread

Ok so on my 95 Sonoma. I found a set of those chrome C5's with the staggered 17's and 18's.

I don't know how the truck was lowered and its a 2wd. Im assuming spindles in the front, its really low.

I will need at least a 2.25 spacer? Im going to check ebay now but am I sounding correct?

Im honestly not sure yet.. They are the chrome thin spoke ones that are 17 and 18's. I don't want to spend $500 on the wheels if hey need $200 worth of spacers and stuff to make them work, and then I'm sure tires...

yea, im pretty sure tires are going to be required lol

you are going to need spacers with any C5/6 wheel on a 2wd.

Re: Corvette Rims Thread

I got a little excited to put the wheels on so i did it early. 2" in the front and 1-3/4" in the rear and no issues. 17x9.5 all the way around with 275/40 tires. I'll get more pics up when i get the truck all put back together.

Re: Corvette Rims Thread

2" spacers let a 17x9 with 265/40's clear the tie-rods on the front of mine but it didn't look like I'd be able to turn the wheel much. I hit the frame with a 2" spacer and 16x8's, 245/50's.

A 2" in the rear isn't enough with an 18x10.5, 295/35 either. They look like they clear when the truck is just sitting there but a member on S10planet tried it and was scuffing the sidewall on the inside with normal driving. I would think a 1.75" with 275's would be the same. Have you tried driving with it yet? The LSx is probably going to move things around alot more in the rear than a 4.3 so I'd make sure you have lots of clearance. Nice truck BTW!

OK so if they don't work with drop spindles do they work with drop control arms? would that solve this issue?

Re: Corvette Rims Thread

Ran C5 "Wagon Wheels" on my 01 Blazer Extreme. These are 17x8.5 front and 18x9.5 on the Vette. 2.5" Spacers all around. 255/40 in front, 275/40 in rear. I 2/2 drop on it. I absolutely despised how small the front rims looked.
Original:

I had the idea to run the larger 18 x 9.5 all around. 275/40 Sumitomos all around. Looked ALOT better. But still not my bag.
Later

Went with these SSR Competition Forged 2 piece 19 x 10s all around with a 1.25 spacer. 285/35 rear 255/40 front.

SOOO much better. They really fill out the wheel well right.

In the end, Vette wheels are cheap, but spacers arent. And even then they just dont really fit the wheel wells that great. I never had any issues with tie rod contact though.

Re: Corvette Rims Thread

They will fit fine under stock suspension assuming you have an s10. 4wd don't require spacer but 2wd will require them. I think 2.25-2.5 are the most commonly used spacer for vette rims.

OH man those wheels look tits, I would love a set of CCWs one day.
The main reason I got my vette wheels is cuz you don't have to spend $200 on spacers when you're 4X4, I just got the 1" in the back and it evens it out pretty much perfectly, although I think like a 1/8" to 1/4" shorter spacer would allow for better rear clearance when you run 295s.

4WD 2nd Gen blazers even stock have a wicked stagger, not sure, maybe for turning circle or something, but even stock I think the wheels could use a 3/4" spacer in the rear.

You need to stuff some bigger brakes under there, the 19s make the stockers look like drums

they should yes im running Inch and 3/4 spacers in the front and 2s in the rear...

and 4x4 dont need spacers in the rear seeing how the rear end is 4 inches wider i believe... but i do think you still need em in the front

no spacers needed in the front of 4x4's, nor the rear. though it has been posted already that you can run a 1 inch spacer on the rear to even out the wheels with the fronts.

It's for traction offroad. If you're traveling straight through mud or snow your front tires make a track. If your rear wheels follow the same track they're more likely to just spin. When they're offset like that, the rear tires grab the edges of the front track.
They chose the rear wheels to be the narrower of the two for handling and turning radius reduction purposes.
