camaro/firebird wheels?

ok, prob been asked before, but will 4th generation(93-02) camaro and firebird wheels fit 2wd sonoma?? have some 16 inch z28 wheels i could put on, but also have access to ten spoke SS wheels 17x9.... thought about keep factory style stuff but updating off the ugly 15 inch painted gray "blade" wheels, if not i will paint them black and put tires on it

Re: camaro/firebird wheels?

i know the 91-92 16" wheels fit them as well as the iroc's. i had a set on my truck and didn't need to use any spacers.i know the 93-02 will fit also without spacers. all years are same bolt pattern too.hope this helps.

Re: camaro/firebird wheels?

also forgot to mention, the 91-92 camaro wheels are the same as the first gen zq8 s-10 wheels, the camaro wheels just used a different center cap.

Re: camaro/firebird wheels?

different bs too.

as far as the original question. the 10 spoke ss rims will fit on the sonoma. you'll need 2.25" adapters to adjust for the bs. i had them on my old noma that was zq8. if you have questions let me know.

Yes this is the correct info. The '93-'02 f-body wheels will not fit a 2wd without the use of 2.25" or 2.5" spacers. 4wd, however, is a different story.

Edit: Adaptitusa has 2.30" spacers available also. The difference should be minimal over the 2 1/4" spacers, other than it will give you just a c-hair more tie-rod clearance.

Re: camaro/firebird wheels?

my 16x8's fit with a 2" spacer but i'd get 2.25" spacers if you're going to spend the money on them. I think they'll still work with 16x8's and they'll give you some more options later on if you decide to swap to larger camaro or vette wheels. here's my 'noma with a 2000 trans am wheel

Occasionally I manage to get the drop on someone...

As far as 2", they will work, but we noticed on my uncle's 'noma that it moved the inside of the rear tires closer to the leaf springs than he was comfortable with, and he had significantly more rubbing in the front at full lock than expected.

Oh, the rims were basically like yours, except they were from a '97 firebird.

Re: camaro/firebird wheels?

yeah, if i had my time back I would have gotten the 2.25" ones. with 245/50's I haven't had any major problems, just some rub near lock with the fronts.

Re: camaro/firebird wheels?

also keep in mind that a 17x9 will not work with a drop spindle on a 2wd truck even with the 2.25 spacers

the inside of the wheel will hit the tie rod end...you can get by with a 2.5" adapter..but then the wheel is out past the fender lip on 1st gens...it might just barely be inside the lip on a 2nd gen

Re: camaro/firebird wheels?

the third gen wheels (82-92) also have different backspace on the back than the front. the fronts are 4.5" backspace and the rears are 5 1/8" backspace.

its hard to notice but if you try to run the backs on the front they will hit the tie rod ends.

the 4th gen wheels (93-up) will bolt on to a 4x4 with no mods 2wd will need mad crazy large spacers.

Re: camaro/firebird wheels?

i hate to bring back an old thread but i have a question thats relative to the post. I sold some 18x8 rims that i had on my 97 camaro to a buddy of mine with a 99 s10 extreme and he says that they wont clear the spindles. my question is, with the 2.25" or 2.5" spacers will that help with that?

What is the story with these '93-'02 f-body wheels fitting on a four wheel drive s-10? Are there any mods required? If so, what are they? Thanks.

Re: camaro/firebird wheels?

let me try and clear this up for you doods. i have had 3 3rd gen camaros, a 1st gen s10, and a 2nd gen s10.

67-92 camaro wheels have the old school rwd chevy offset, which is very similar to the stock offset of a 2wd s10 wheel.

93+ camaro wheels have the "new style" offset, which is very similar to the stock offset of a 4wd s10 wheel.

to put 67-92 camaro wheels on a 2wd you may need a small spacer like 1/4-1/2 inch. just mount them and see how much clearance you have.

to put 93+ camaro wheels on a 2wd you'll need atleast a 2" spacer.

if you put 67-92 camaro wheels on a 4wd, they'll poke out about 2", but if you can live with that or you want that look, go for it.

if you put 93+ camaro wheels on a 4wd, most put a small spacer on the rear for looks, but they fit well.
