brakes are pulsating whats wrong?

I bought the truck with new brake lines, shoes and rear cylinders and its been vibrating like crazy the day after I bought it. Today I put 15's on the back with a bigger tire and the front has 14's and stopping down a hill the ABS light flickered. It didnt come on completly. Its getting worse so I need someone to point me in the right direction

Re: brakes are pulsating whats wrong?

have you looked at the brakes at all? is the pulsation coming from the front or rear?

Sounds like warped rotor, time for a fresh one with new pads as well.

Yep, I would say a severely warped rotor(s) One way to find out,is to have them turned, you'll find out real quick if they are warped or not

Not sure if it has 4 wheel ABS.....could be sensing the different tire sizes (front to rear).

Re: brakes are pulsating whats wrong?

its the front doin it because if i let go of the wheel when i hit the brakes it moves the steering wheel alot. Ill check the rotors when I get better. I got the flu. Not the swine flu thankfully.

Re: brakes are pulsating whats wrong?

The abs light flickering is most likely because you have different size tires front to rear. Your abs counts wheel revolutions, and if you have 2 different size tires, the count is off.

The vibration is either a wheel bearing or warped rotor. Most likely a warped rotor. Get 'em turned, throw on a new set of pads, and you should be good to go. Good luck.

I know this is a pointless post, but me and my gf just got over swine flu a couple weeks ago. Sucks being sick for 3-4 weeks. She was in and out of the hospital, but I toughed it out. Neither of us got the shot and I work at Wal Mart, so I'm assuming that's how we got it. Haha

And as for the brakes, I'm pretty sure it's warped rotors too cuz my friend's car was doing the same thing and that's what it ended up being.
