Re: 245/30 on a 9 wide

245's look like hell on a 9" rim. 255 is better but still a bit stretched for me. What size rim?

Re: 245/30 on a 9 wide

yeah and its not like the wheel isn't protected. i never had any problems with minor potholes. but its gotta be 35 series not 30

245's on a 17x9 wheel look like ass on all the Camaros I've seen. What's that tire look like from the back?

Re: 245/30 on a 9 wide

From that angle it's very stretched out. If the tread is narrower than the rim, it's a bad thing.

Re: 245/30 on a 9 wide

That is DEFINITELY bad! I can't believe a tire place would even mount a tire that narrow on a rim that wide. I did have 205/55/16's mounted on an 8" rim when I was poor and my car died but had new tires and the rims for my truck needed tires. It didn't look too bad. I was surprised the tire place would mount them though but back then they didn't care as much as they do now with all the stupid lawsuits nowdays.

Sure looks stretched to me. The lip of the rim sticks out way farther than the tread of the tire. The sidewall goes in from the rim to the tread.

didnt say it wasnt stetched at all, it did have a little stretch but from a performance aspect thats good. stretch tires=minimal sidewall flex.

Re: 245/30 on a 9 wide

A 235 tire can be mounted on a 8"-9.5" wheel and still be within safe specs. i think the tire companys have done there research and know what they are talking about.......

just go to tire rack and look up the size tire you wanna run and it will tell you if it will fit safely on the rim width you choose

I would run at least a 255 like mentioned by a few people before. Thats what I always ran on my 20x9 or 20x8.5s in the past.

Re: 245/30 on a 9 wide

i mainly wanted the 245 for the fact that it is less than 28 inches tall.

I sure like the wide tires tho.

Re: 245/30 on a 9 wide

^^^ i agree.

I wouldnt run any thing smaller then a 255. i have a set of 20s with 255 on a 8.5 and thats a little to stretched for my taste. if you can fit it run a 265. A wide tire IMO looks super sickk on s10s/ Blazers.

BTW i realy like that tan colored blazer with the 285s thats a sick tire. Id run that if i still had lo pros

Apparently none of you guys have been in the euro scene. Tire stretch and poke is definitely nothing new. Really popular with dubbers--crazy crazy amounts of stretch and poke. I don't really care for it but some people can pull it off really well.

Jordan....Matt had 245's on 20x9 IROC's & the looked/fit just fine. He just sold them to get narrower rims to clear the s-side better.

Their "thing" is unsafe and dangerous! Those tires are being stretched beyond their limits and the fenders on half of them are rubbing ON the tire just waiting for them to be cut and blow out.

Sorry, I dont tent to like shitty cars with absolutely no power trying to make them look "cool" by streching the tires out on the rim. I hope the wreck and total the junk out.

so a corrado vr6 or a 1.8t golf is shitty and has no power? im pretty sure some vr6's can run with the LSx guys here. and if those cars are so shitty why do they hold their value more than an s-series can?

im not trying to defend them but if thats what they like thats what they do. Americans are becoming inferior to the European vehicles. They are dollar for dollar better than american cars.
