2 different treads is that a problem ?

ok hopefully this will be my last wheel thread for a while, i just got in all 4 tires and 2 wheels today, the front tires are sumitomo 245/40/18 HTR+ and the rear is 285/35/18 HTR z II. the treads are toatlly different. is this going to be a problem, (it will probally look like ass), also how much can i expect to pay to put tires on wheels and mount and balance , thanks again this site is really helpful.

as long same tire diameter size, you'll be just fine

I've done mixing tire brands now and then on other truck

techinically different rubber will have different grip at different slip angles and different temps, so the truck may not handle the same at different tire temps, and different steering inputs, for different speeds, right and left..

but for regular driving, i wouldnt worry about it.

just keep in mind under emergency braking the truck may not stop as fast or straight as with the same tires
