Lightbulb 15" wheels for 2nd Gen Lowered Blazer...

As much as I hate to, it's getting close to time to upgrade my wheels from the stock Swirlies. This past weekend, I bought a pair of Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 275/60-15's that look great on the back of my Blazer, but because the stock wheels are only 7" wide, they are making the edges of the tread (roughly 0.75") not make contact with the pavement. So in other words, I'm losing 1.50" of tread contact, which means there's no extra rubber on the ground than the stock sized Indy 500 235/70-15's give me.

I want the front wheel dimentions to be the exact same as stock, but with the rear, I want to go wider and deeper for that classic "hot rod" staggered look while still keeping them inside the fenders and not rubbing anything anywhere. I know an 8" wheel in the rear would be wide enough for the 275/60 tires, but not wide enough for me to satisfy the look I'm going after. And since a 9" wide wheel is too darn pricey, I'm looking at 10" wide wheels.

Now I know that with a 10" wide wheel the sidewalls of the tires will be nearly perfectly flat with their 11" section width.

So with all of that in mind, I would like to ask you guys if you could post up some pictures of your 2nd Gen Blazers running 15" wheels with stock height tires (28") at all four corners, or close to it. And if you would, PLEASE list the specs of the wheels as far as width, backspacing and offset.

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

BTW, here's a couple shots of mine with the new tires on the back...

Re: 15" wheels for 2nd Gen Lowered Blazer...

well when i stuck a 15x10 (4.5" bs) on the back, one whee/tire sat flush with the outside, then the next day i tired the wheel on the other side and it stuck out some. im gonna say my body isnt centered on the frame cause theres more rub marks on the driver side inner than the passanger side. you can also run less b/s since you have less drop.

heres my clearances with a 15x10 4.5" bs 295/50

you can run less bs and keep them inside. i would have a hard time with my big drop cause id rub wayyy more inside

right now i have a 20x9(5" bs) with a 285/30 out back, and i like the room i have to the outside which is just about perfect with the front. so id try a 15x10 with 5.5 b.s. unless you dont mind it coming out flush with the outisde.

what style of wheel you looking for? polished? chrome? brushed? painted? steelies?

I'm running 265/70r15 on the rear of a gen 2 pick up on 7" wheels. No real problem with contact patch issues, rubbing or sticking out.
