wiper motor
hey everyone looks like the wipers don't work at all in my 94' sonoma. i could barely here the motor running when i have it on and the wipers don't even move. I can move the blades freely without the motor on so i know they're ok. should i replace the circuit board or the whole motor.?

Re: wiper motor
If you can move the blades with the wiper motor off, then you have a gear or linkage problem.

Re: wiper motor
take the circuit board out and inspect the solder joints. If any look to be bad, resolder them.

Re: wiper motor
When i disconnect the motor and just plug it in there is a whine when it is in pulse or low but nothing when switch to high or mist.. The wiper motor where it attaches to the linkage doesn't move at all. I've taken the motor out and the the motor isn't attched to the linkage just the electrical plug connected.

Re: wiper motor
When i would push the spray or high it wouldnt make a noise... all other positions it made a slight grinding whirring noise.
I replaced the pulse board and it was fixed. Doing a brand new motor that comes with new pulse might be cheapier. remember to plug the wipers back in... otherwise you will think you did nothing. lol Last edited by circa : 11-02-2009 at 07:11 PM. |
