Was this a good deal? 97 S-10 - Great shape - Blown Motor - $700.00
I bought my 97 s-10 with 148,000 mile for $700.00! It is in really nice shape, except it has a blown engine. (I was aware of the blow engine when I bought it).
Was it a pretty good deal? or not? I am going to get a new engine, or get the old one rebuilt. I plan on putting a 2/3 or 4/5 drop on it, with 18" Rims! Also wich of my 2 truck do you like the best? Heres 1 ![]() Heres the other one ![]() |

i would take the s10 over the dodge anyday.
MoparWhat needs to be fixed on the motor to get it back running or do you even know yet? 148,000 isnt that high of mileage for it to be toast. |

I agree Mopar = to much to fix or build. Last edited by TuckaBlaze : 07-02-2008 at 01:27 PM. |

The dodge is a 1995 with almost 160,000 miles. It has a 360 V8 and runs like a top! It dosnt leak any fluids or burn any oil! It sat in my driveway for over 2 weeks, & there wasnt even a little puddle! I am a big mopar fan, but the s-10 is the best looking little truck, & it is about the only lil' truck that looks nice lowered!

Wow, from what I can see in the picture that looks like a really clean little truck. If the rest of the body is in as good of shape as what I can see appears to be, and it has a complete and decent interior I'd say you got a pretty good deal. That definitely looks like it's worth a motor. Was it a 2.2 or 4.3?
A while back I bought a 96 S10 with 150,000 miles, 4.3 5-speed with a blown transmission and rough body for $500. I invested about a grand to get the tranny completely rebuilt and it ran like a top after that. Soon after plans kinda changed and I decided to sell it, ended up getting $3,200 out of it. |

def take the dodge on a little trail adventure.
hell of a good deal on the dime...even if you weren't doing anything with it, throw an engine in it and make some money on it. Last edited by Criticalbeatdown95s : 07-02-2008 at 03:37 PM. |

Stepside bed too, nice! I'd say it was a real good deal.
The dodge is too redneck for my tastes. |

Re: Was this a good deal? 97 S-10 - Great shape - Blown Motor - $700.00
Yeah I was like less than 5 inches from the car. Then car is a 1990 Acura Integra, I just wanted a pic of how much bigger my truck is than the car.
I only owned that car for like 9 days. I am only 17 & I am on my 5th vehicle. PS: I get tired of vehicles fast, lol. I am also not a spoiled rich kid. My most expensive vehicle so far was $2900.00 - & that was the dodge! |

Yeah, thanks for the info. I am really just trying to get the truck running as cheap as possible. I dont really plan on keepig it that long. I have a goal to eventually buy a truck, like this:

I just about bought a 383 stoker, that was supposed to run 400hp-600hp, but I decided that the 2.2L mpg was worth the lack of power! lol
