Ticking from A/C Compressor
I just noticed a ticking coming from my compressor when the ac or defrost is on. It doesn't speed up with rpm, just a constant tick. It's not loud, just noticable. Anyone know what this could be? It's not the warning that it's low on freon either. It's almost like the sound of loose rocker arms. Just a tick, tick tick tick............not very loud either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Re: Ticking from A/C Compressor
Just guessing here but:
1. A/C compressor fan clutch, I think it is a friction clutch, maybe that part of the compressor is going bad? Not sure how to fix, maybe try and throw some lubricating oil on it? I know brake fluid works on squeaky belts... 2. Does you A/C work, if it is low on freon the compressor will kick on/off more often I think. |
