Re: Swapping EVERYTHING!!

I think that the chrome bumper would look out of place. I like the black. And the bigger tires will help too (when you get them).

That's what I was thinking too. . . The chrome bumper does, however, have the bottom valance that I'm missing on the black bumper, so I'll probably throw that on to try and make the truck look a little more complete.

More pics to come later.

Re: Swapping EVERYTHING!!

Well, one more quick update:

I decided to go ahead and install the chrome bumper, but before I did, I sprayed it with some gloss black paint. I think it makes the truck look MUCH better, but since it's from a 98+ Blazer/S10, it doesn't have the turn signals and it leaves a gap below the headlights. . . Still looks a lot better than it did before. . .

Here are a few pics! As always, suggestions and comments are welcome and appreciated!

IMO the brush guard looks out of place on it...

Thanks! I'm planning on taking off the headlight cover part of it (cutting them off) and welding them on the opposite sides, they would follow the shape of the grille and headlights perfectly. . . I'm not half bad at fabrication, but I'm really busy most of the time with work, classes, etc. I'll be posting pictures in my Project thread as well, "Project Budget Lifted Slonoma". Check it out, I love hearing input and suggestions for improvement. I guess I've been spoiled over on a couple of other forums, instead of people saying "That looks like crap" or "It's ugly", people would say "I don't like the way _________ looks, but I think it might look better if you did __________ next."

I like this forum, it's apparent that there are many different people with different ideas, and it shows when you look at all of the different vehicles around here. That said, not everyone is going to like what I'm going for, but I'm trying to keep it rather simple and clean. I'm not going to do anything over the top, I might lift it another 3"-4" and put some 33" or 35" tires on some new rims (when I can afford them), but besides that, I'm just working towards making this the nicest DD/Winter Beater I've ever had.

Keep the opinions and suggestions coming, I'm going to try to get more work done to get some new pictures to show my progress!

Re: Swapping EVERYTHING!!

Unless you're looking to update the look of your truck, I'd recommend just getting a 95-97 chevy blazer grille to fill in the gap and call it a day.

Might be crooked. . . When I bought it, the front passenger side was hit pretty good.

I'm in Adrian, about 45 minutes NW of Toledo, OH, and 45 minutes SW of Ann Arbor, MI.

I'm having some issues with the electrical, I think it's the 4WD module, but I can't be sure. My hours just got cut at work, so I'm not making much cash right now. That's hindering my ability to fix the Sonoma, I've actually had to resort to driving the Formula daily.

Also, I think the truck has a bad ball joint in the front driver side, it's making all kinds of noise (rattling, clunking, banging, etc.). I'm lost as to what is causing all of these problems with the truck. If anybody lives near me and wants to help me out, PM me. . . I'd really appreciate any ideas anyone has, as well as any common problems with these trucks that I could be experiencing.

Sounds good!

On another note, I've been getting tired of hearing my suspension rattling lately, so I took off the front left rim, and lo and behold, the torsion bar is missing a bushing at the lower control arm. . . I think I found my problem. . . lol
