Strange problem a Vibration at 65 mph
Hi, I developed a strange problem, the other day my serp belt snapped, I got the truck (97 S-10 ext cab 4.3 V-6 auto) pulled right over didnt have time to overheat or anything. Went right out and got a new belt put it on and all was fine UNTILL I hit the freeway, now I get a vibration at 65 mph its there even when I pop it in neutral. I NEVER had the vibration until that belt popped. I did a little google research and found that others had similar problems like mine but I couldnt find a solution, anyone here know what I could do to get rid of the vibration??? Thanks

Re: Strange problem a Vibration at 65 mph
Like I said no vibrations befor the belt popped, I was on the freeway doing 75 mph when the belt popped, BUT just to ease my mind I had the tires rebalanced...they balance was perfect...I'm at a loss, Oh also had the driveline checked at dealer it was in tolerance.

Re: Strange problem a Vibration at 65 mph
When you put it in neutral at 65 mph does the vibration change? Is there less vibration in neutral? Have you tried turning the motor off at 65?

Re: Strange problem a Vibration at 65 mph
the belt tensioner gave you vibrations, thats badass. I have vibrations in my pickup truck and will give that a try, got an oreilly lifetime tensioner years ago so I'll swap it out and see what happens.

Re: Strange problem a Vibration at 65 mph
When the belt came apart, it might have damaged the bearing in the pulley slightly. Also see alot of the springs in the tensioners fail & make the assy wobble.
