screamo1 has a little shameless behaviour in the past
removing cat on a 4.3 vortec

ok can anybody help hear? i had a qeustion about removing the cat on a vortec 4.3 ..97.. and they closed the thread i geuss? anyway for one is it gonna throw the (ses) code and for two will it even run.. because i know on older cars an trucks if you remove the cat u gain a couple of horse!

I gutted the cat on my tutu then I used one of those O2 sensor spacer things and no light.

You will gain a headache when it comes to inspection/emmisions testing time...if you have them.

number one if you remove the cat it will throw a code and turn the ses light on. number two it will run just fine, i cut my cats off and my truck ran perfectly fine if not a little better just order a pcm form wait4me performance with the rear o2 deleted.

Removing your cat isn't worth it if you ask me. You might gain a couple horsepower, but if you ever get ticketed for it, at least around here, it's about 85 dollars. You could've spent that on something better that would've given your truck better gains and didn't make it smell (I know there will be some claiming it doesn't make it smell, but whatever).

I still have a cat on my tu2, or so it looks. I have no inspection. I don't remember the name of the spacer, I got it from here.
