Okay so im a new s10 owner i just bought an 97 s10 ext cab, vortec v-6, 5 speed....My problem is it is stuck in forth gear, the shifter is really loose like you can move it around to neutral but let out the clutch but it will try to go forward it is like stuck in forth gear.....I have not got to look at it but my boy got out there and looked at it while i was at work and said there is a piece on top of the trans that is broke....he called it a "transfer gear" he is kinda a dumbshit thought it is raining really bad or I would have went out there and looked at it after work but i dont wanna get wet. If you know what is wrong it would be awesome. thanks
