need help clearing the engine bay

ok so i picked up a second gen and so far im not too into it with all the wires everywhere... first gens much easier...

anyway i pulled out all the a/c and heater parts and im looking for some help from some guys who have built their second gens and what wires they took out. where they relocated the computer and other "junk" under the hood, and cutting off the heater core from the engine?

i am about to bag this truck so the sooner i can get some help on this matter the better.

thanx guys.

e-fan and intake make some room under the hood. As for the wires and computer, i'm interested too.

Re: need help clearing the engine bay

yeah ive already got that stuff taken care of and the ecu im planning on bolting against the firewall after i weld up all the holes from the blower motor.

im also wondering about the clutch master cylinder and the wires feeding in on the driver side right above the front wheel.

Re: need help clearing the engine bay

Im suprised wire tucks arent all over the place with yalls trucks looking so clean and a wire tuck is just sex it looks like the motor isnt even wires up. I did this on my civic you pretty much just extended the wires and place the somewhere else like your glovebox/underdash area.

NOT MINE

Re: need help clearing the engine bay

yeah i was planning on bolting mine to the firewall where the blower box was because i heard they have a tendancy to over heat so its better to keep it outside the cab

the engine bay is hotter then the cab it just lacks air movement but it isnt a problem with civics i would imagine most would be ok including ours.

ok the project is back up and running just going to be moving a bit slower at the moment

BUT..... who has removed their heater and how did you block off the 2 lines on the engine that run off the heater core?

Take off the hoses and unscrew the hose barb fittings (lots of PB Blaster). I believe that the threads for the fittings are just 3/4 IPS (Iron Pipe Size). Just plug 'em with pipe plugs from the hardware store. Maybe Dorman makes some cooler plugs that are Allen hex head instead of square pipe plug head.

yeah the top can be closed off by a screw in plug but the bottom side is a clamp on hose just like the radiator hoses..... how about that one?

It looks like that one is pressed into the water pump. Get a rubber cap. If you can't find one, make one out of a short piece of hose and a 3/8" pipe plug. Hose clamp both ends of the hose.

what are the 4 relays at the top of the firewall right above the engine?[/quote]

So these relays are blower motor and A/C relays. If I got rid of all that then I can pull those wires then right?

i just tucked mine into the wire loom just in case
helps keep in clean and they are still there just in case i need them

pics will be up soon
just have to get the firewall smoothed and mount the ecu where the blower motor used to be and also hook up my prop valve and residual valve for the brakes (FYI dont ask auto zone or advanced for a prop valve because they have no clue what one is..... morons)
