Looking at a 99 4x4, what to look for?

I've been looking at my 89 S15 Jimmy 4x4 lately, and the more I look, the more money I want to put in. That's all fine and dandy, but it's mainly my winter mobile, so I want to keep it on the affordable side.

I've found a 99 I like, regular cab, short box, 4x4. It has around 90,000 miles on it, 4.3 auto, buckets, console, etc. etc. Are there any common problems on these trucks I should look for when I'm looking at it, and any options it might have that are desireable (or any that I should stay away from)?

I like the 4.3tbi auto in my Jimmy right now, with the stick shifted 4x4, will I notice any differences with 4.3cpi, the newer auto, and push-button 4x4?

Any comments or advice would be great, thanks!

It's not just a winter unit, I guess you'd call it more of a daily. I don't drive it a lot in the warm season, I have other stuff for that, but I do drive it a bit. It's rusty, has lot's of miles, and generally needs work, plus a truck would be MUCH handier for me, I just want to make sure there aren't any "Bad years" etc of a 2nd gen. The deal on the 99 fell through, so really a list of any common 2nd gen problems would be great, thanks!
