LED Lighting for Interior Lights

So I was reading through previous posts about redo gauge lights with LED's, and I am kind of confused. Are WLED's the way to go? Or is there another type of LED bulb I should replace the current stock bulbs with? And what other lights can I redo interior-wise with LED's? Thanks for any help.

There are so many different kinds of leds, try some and figure out what works best for you. Or just do what other people have done.
