My first American ride in 15-20 years.
We bought the 1999 in October for my wife cuz we needed a truck, I fell in love with it and in November, I purchased the Xtreme.
In that short amount of time we have spent a LOT of money on custom and aftermarket parts.
The only thing that actually needed to be replaced was the 4 shocks on the 99'
I am glad I didn't get a different truck(originally, we wanted a Nissan or Toyota), but really liked the plush interier of the S10 and comfortable ride.
We have been on 3 road trips in that short amount of time and no problem (great heat & air too

its usually on how you drive it...

i speedshifted my tranny everyday in my 5 speed it eventually locked up after a couple months

I gotta 99 Sonoma (2.2l 5-speed) w/ 280,000 plus miles Ill post pictures of the odo as soonas I can.drivetrain is all original(except u-joints, I replaced all three) dosnt burn oil, still gets 25 average mpg fuel economy. bought her brand new w/ 15 miles on feburary 1999.

My 96 SS is put away for the winter...put 2000 miles on it in the summer..its at 63k runs nice and smooth...My 94"SS" 2.2L 5psd just turned over 127k still waiting for the day it dies..it just keep starting and getting me to where i wanna go..and back! thinking about taking the 3 inch blocks in the back out been there for like 4 years...idk we will see....
