help clutch trans problems
k i have a 2001 gmc sonoma with 2.2. my clutch just went out so i ordered Zoom Performance Products 30017 clutch from summit. it came in i installed in. i didnt know about the bleeding the slave cyender so i didnt. it has a brand new throw out bearin that came with the kit. so i was takin it very easy on the new clutch 86 miles into the new clutch. it just started not workin it felt like the tranny fell so i check and it was still there. so i thought the hydralic line came off it didnt. so the engine wouldnt start also so i thought maybe the fly wheel was loose its not. starter turns and everything. the truck just wont start in neutral. if u put it in first and start it the car moves a little forward as long as u hold the key in. so if anyone can help me with any pointers please. my cousin thinks it the throw out bearing thanks for the help

Re: help clutch trans problems
bleed the clutch. on my 96 it is a 13mm nut i believe on the left side of the tranny by the hydrulic line. If that does not work you may have a leak somewhere else. open it push in clutch close it repeat until you get peddle feel again.

Re: help clutch trans problems
did you put a new slave in when you did the clutch? if no, do that as well. its standard procedure. I like making a habit of doing throwout and pilot bearing, slave, and clutch at once. its in the same area, so you may as well.

Re: help clutch trans problems
If your master is leaking that's a good indication your slave is not too far behind I agree with Bobthebiker sop is to change the slave when you're in there. Most hyd clutches I have done need a master in a month or two.

Re: help clutch trans problems
k let me let yall in on what im doin now. k when u start the truck the starter spins the flywheel but it dosnt spin the crank pully so nothing connected to the belt spins. the throw out bearing does move. we tryed push startin it today and it didnt do anything. it sort of felt like the splines are striped. has anyone heard of anything like this the splines stripin. i can shift like normal into each of my gears 1,2,3,4,5,R. tomarrow im going to drop tranny and check the bearing between my flywheel and the crank. i will replace the slave once i get it out. any more tips.

Re: help clutch trans problems
it sounds like you have a flywheel with some missing teeth most likely. or rather a LOT of missing teeth on the outside for the starter to engage on.

Re: help clutch trans problems
You're gonna have to pull the motor and take that shit to a professional machine shop, OR buy a new crank. how the HELL do the flywheel bolts manage to break? I cant even imagine this. they're pretty thick and strong bolts.
