Re: getting SHORT shifter
dont Take my word for sure but do alittle research on this. I think that the 82- 92 3rd gen Fbody ( Camaro/Firebird ) 5 speed will bolt to the 4.3 you might need a different cross member though. now the First gen S10 came with the T-5 trans mission. the four cyliders had a t5 aswell which i know for a fact there is a short throw shifter for. but do some research before you start spending money.

Re: getting SHORT shifter
If you find one, please let me know. I have been looking for 2 years and cant find one for my 4.3. Seems anyone that gets one now lucks out and its from someone that just had one laying around and stuff.

Re: getting SHORT shifter
here is one on ebay. I did some research and you should be able to use the shifter from any GM t5 transmission the place i was reading from said they switched the shifters from a camaro t5 and put it on a s10 t5 with out a problem
