Arrow Chevy S10 Performance Chips...

Hey guys I have a 2000 Chevy S10 4 cylinder 2wd. I lifted my truck with a 3 inch spindle lift and I put 30's on it.
After I did all that with my truck I have absolutely no horse power and my MPG has lowered dramatically.
I was thinking maybe buying a performance chip. I wanted to ask for any ones opinion on this and if buying one will
even help my truck gain horse power and more MPG. Im kind of on a tight budget and I have found one on this website.
Please check it out. http://www.performancechipsdirect.com/Chevy/S10/
Is this a good buy? and can anyone recommend one for me that is maybe less than $150 bucks that really works?

-Thank you!

Absolute waste of money. The chips for these trucks are worthless

Spend that money into some underdrive pulleys and gain around 7hp I believe. Also get a little better mpg as well.

Also what transmission?

Re-gear the rear end. You probably have 4.10's You may want to go a little lower with 4.29? or 4.56? You won't have any more hp, but at least it will feel like you do.

but your MPG's will go down the shitter, the speedo will be off, the truck will be revving higher at speed and that usually means more wear and tear on the drivetrain. not worth it if you ask me.
really you could accomplish the same thing with a smaller tire. but like i said, there's no benefits aside from being a little quicker out of the hole.

Re: Chevy S10 Performance Chips...

Actually it will help with your fuel mileage. Instead of lugging the engine with bigger tires, it will put your RPM's back to where they're supposed to be at with the smaller tires. Thats why alot of the newer 2wd 4cyl pickups come with 4.29 gears and tall tires. Putting on larger tires lowers your rpms, gearing with a lower gear will raise them back to where it should be. Lower gears will not cause anymore wear and tear than the taller tires will.

He is right about the speedo being off, but that can be fixed. Your speedo is off anyway by putting larger tires on. Of course the cheapest fix is to put smaller tires on it.

I've been in the 4x4 community for years and too many people complain about the performance of there trucks when they slap large tires on without lower gears.
