Catalytic Converter Q In Cali

ok i have a 95 2.2l i gutted my cat out about a year ago now my smog time rolls around and it's test only. well really really don't want spend 600 bucks on one seen some on e-bay and stuff but most say not for cali. wondering if i could get away with one or not have till next month to do this any help would be great but if i have to will get the 600 ones.

Nope And It's 95 So They Do Hook Up To My Computer Right? ALTHO IF I DRIVE 10ISH MILES IT TURNS ON TURN THE TRUCK OFF TURN BACK ON AND IT'S OFF. SOME TIMES IT DOSEN'T COME ON ATALL

I don't know anything about Cali, but these motors won't pass (high on HC and CO) without.

they usually check computer and sometimes a sniffer test. no cat = fail sniffer. plus if the light comes on and then goes off, it still probably has the code saved in the computer, which will show up if they scan

To reset the computer: Take off your battery cables and touch them together for 10 sec. Reconnect, and you should be reset!

I thought it was remove the negative battery cable for 10 sec and it should be good

You need to touch the cables together, after they are disconnected, to discharge any residual charges in the capacitors or other elements of the PCM.
