? about blower motor
My blower motor dosen't seem to blow very hard at all, only time you can even feel it is when the switch is on high. If it's on the lower three levels, you can't even tell the thing is doing anything. Just wondering if the blower's usually blow pretty good, or is this normal for all S-10's? I also noticed that it always seems to blow out warmer air, even when it's cool outside, it blows air that's warm. Anyone have any ideas please let me know, It's damn hot now.

Re: ? about blower motor
it's a 94 with the 4.3 vortec, automatic. I took the blower motor out yesterday to see if it was clogged up or anything, but it was clear inside the box. I did notice the blower is the origanel from 94.

Re: ? about blower motor
have you checked the voltage to the plug that goes in the blower motor. I think it also has a high speed relay by the blower also.

Re: ? about blower motor
is that the part that mounts into the box with the three different coils in it? If it is I picked up a new one today at the parts store, for some reason I had to get one for a 95, the one they brought out for the 94 wasn't like mine, plug was different and the way it mounted was wrong. Haven't put it in yet, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to change that too. I'll have to wait till tuesday to see if it helped any. I had to order a new cage for the blower, kinda broke it while trying to squeeze it back into it's little hole.

Re: ? about blower motor
its most likly the part that you got. my brothers went out last year, only one of the fan speeds worked. i think it is a resistor. when you have it set on a lower setting, it takes some of the electricity going to it and burns it off so there is less going out to the motor.

Re: ? about blower motor
Well I replaced the blower, the relay thing with the coils, and still nothing. Now it seems even worse then it was before. Someone was telling that it could be a vacum line, since the ones on the truck aren't in the best of shape. They were saying that they could be dry rotted enough that they could be leaking somewhere just enough that there's not enough vacum to open the vent doors up. What do you guys think?

Re: ? about blower motor
yes thats a possibility. i dont know what year you have but i'll go by mine. If you look on the hood, you will see a vaccum canister "ball" there will be a vaccum line going from it to a check valve, one vaccum line will go to the intake, and the other will go through the firewall. that vaccum line is located on the drivers side near the wiring harness. If these three vaccum lines are in bad shape, replace them. this applys to 94-97. if you have a 98+ the vaccum ball is inside the drivers fender.

Re: ? about blower motor
I've got a 94, and yeah those lines are in pretty bad shape, they look pretty dry rotted. I'll probably try to change them tonight or over the weekend. If that dosen't work, then I guess it's got to be something inside with the controls.

Re: ? about blower motor
Well, I replaced all the vacum lines, and it still is doing the same thing. I even tried another blower switch inside and still didn't change anything. In the Chilton book it says the relays on the firewall by the blower box are for the A/c, could those have something to do with this? There is a diaphram looking thing under the dash that looks like it mounts to the blower box with a vacum line going to it. I figured that's probably what opens the vent doors and if it's bad then it's not opening them. That's the only other thing besides the relays that I can think might be wrong.

Re: ? about blower motor
On older vehicles or ones that are driven alot in dusty conditions the evaporator coil will become plugged. It sweats when the a/c is on and the dust drawn in sticks and turns to mud. Blocks off the air flow and causes the air that does get through to be warmer. Unfortunately the coil has to be removed and physically cleaned to fix it if this is the problem.
