Post 97 s10 headlight conversion to HID

alright so im new at this whole forum thing but ive got a question. I have a 97 S10 with of course the sealed beam headlights but i want to get HID. So what entails coverting them. Do i need to buy 4x6 headlights and just buy an HID kit or is there more too it than that.. new harnesses or whtever please let me know

Re: 97 s10 headlight conversion to HID

well since you have a sealed headlight you would prob need a sealed headlight that is HID. im not to familar with the lights on the 94-97 but the might make one for you truck. 98+ they have all kinds of plug and play hids bc there not sealed.

this might need to be moved to the lighting section to get better answers

Re: 97 s10 headlight conversion to HID

You need to buy H4 conversion housings and you need to buy H4 HID's. I can post a ebay link tonight to my headlight housings as they are better quality then one set I owned.

This is where I bought my HID's

Some pics of my setup.

Headlight housing is a 4x6 H4 conversion housing.

These are my housings, they were either $30 of $40 shipped on ebay.

My HID's are 6,000K, H4-3 as they have high and low beams. The highs are simulated with an electric motor.

Re: 97 s10 headlight conversion to HID

Here's the headlights I have:

http://www.bigrigchromeshop.com/Merc.../HDLIT/UP31388

They convert the H4-ish style headlight plug to a 9007 bulb and come with the harness to do it.

Will be putting in a set of 9007 HID's from them as well this week. The crystal headlights alone are a huge upgrade.

Will post when done.
