95 won't run

New to the S 10 thing and thought I would say hello. Just bought a 95 w/ a 4 cyl that doesn't run, picking it up tonight... The owner said it lost power and died running down the road. Not looking for the cure all just don't want to waste time if I can help it. Here's what I know. No coolant in the oil. Seems to be getting gas but haven't check pressure yet. Not sure about spark. Thought I'd ask if anyone has seen this before. Thanks BK

Re: 95 won't run

Thanks, had thought of all of those except for the oil pressure switch. I'll start checking when I get it home...

Re: 95 won't run

Re: 95 won't run

the oil pressure sensor wont stop it from starting and it wont allow the engine to idle but it will run with your foot on the gas.

Re: 95 won't run

Thanks for all of the suggestions but the aluminum thats splattered on the spark plug tells me it's a bit more serious... Good news is I have another 2.2 with 120 K on it waiting to go in. Should be on the road in a couple of days. Thanks to everyone who to a shot at fixin it...
