2001 S-10 vibration at 45 mph and up???

I was wondering if anyone had a similar problem as me? What happens is at 45 mph and up my truck starts to hum/vibrate. Its not harsh but I can hear it and feel it in the gas ped.. If I put it N and decell it is still there untill it reaches 44 or less. I replaced the U-joints front and rear last night and it still is there. My rear one was shot so im glad I did replaced them. I also rotated the tires. I am going to do my front brakes and inspect the front wheel bearings tomorrow. Any other ideas or parts I should be looking for that cause this??? The truck is a reg cab, auto, 2.2L

Thanks,
Nick

That would cause a humming noise? I just put two new tires on the truck a couple months ago. I rotated the new fronts to the rear and no change at all in the noise and the vib..

I checked for all my weights and it seems I may have lost one on the rear. Thanks for the suggestion. Ill update when I put another weight on it.

no not having a tire balanced will cause vibrations you can get tires balanced pretty cheap

I put new rotors and pads on and packed the bearings. All looks ok there. I need to check the tire ballance tonight. I hope thats all it is. It still has a vibration at 45 and up mph.

Sorry bud, tires are balanced perfect. I'm down to a warped drive shaft or a trans issue. It's not horable but somthing is messed up.

ok then you may have a bent wheel if you have a spare tire and wheel you can check them one at a time by swapping them out unless you have already tried that, did the truck just start doing this?and did you replace that tires lately because you could have got a blem i have got them before and they shake it pretty bad

Re: 2001 S-10 vibration at 45 mph and up???

Hmm im having a simular problem with my 2003 4.3 5speed i just picked up... it only seems to do it above 45.. aint bad or notting just anoying. Dont the drive shafts have some kinda balance ring on them? im thinking i need the drive shaft balanced but i also havent changed or checked my u joints yet! so that could be my problem.

Re: 2001 S-10 vibration at 45 mph and up???

Check the u joints out. If they dont move easy when the drive shaft is off the truck they are bad. they have metal weights on the shaft. I did not see a spot where I could have lost one. My problem seems to be more off a humming or a shutter. Its not a shake in the stearing, its a vibration that starts at 45 mph and up. My wheels are good. No cracks or bends. They are stock swirls and I have a decent side wall. I am going to put a set of xtreme rims w/ new tires on it soon anyways.

did you drop the truck? If you did you re set the pinion angle?

How are the mounts....trans/motor. If any of those are broken it can change the driveline angle.

Re: 2001 S-10 vibration at 45 mph and up???

There may be one but all I seen was metal tabs welded to it. I think I may put it on the rack and have someone put it in gear and speed it up to 45 and look under it.
