Working on exhaust, how do I drop the catalytic converter?

I have unbolted the catalytic converter on my 97 2door 4x4 5 speed, but I can't get it out. I can't slide it back since the its too tight between the body and the torsion bar cross member, I was trying to drop the tranny cross member, but something is stripped on the drivers side bolts as they are just spinning. right now I can't get an angle on it to slide it down. If only the passenger side tranny cross member bolts weren't studs.

WHY is EVERYTHING so damn stupid on this truck!!!

Someone PLEASE tell me what to do.
