Whats your ABS like?

When mines kicks in its terrible, it makes some prety wicked noises and you got to hold the steering wheel straight. In my Trans Am I never really knew when the ABS kicked in because it was always real smooth.

i dont think my abs even works.. ive been meaning to take it somewhere to find out why.

Since i got my 2001 blazer about 4-5 months ago it's been worked on 3 times. 1st time was for the bags and blocks about 4 weeks after i got it. 2nd time was back to the dealer for the brakes after about 2 months. 3rd time, back to the dealer AGAIN for the brakes. And you now what sucks the most? My brakes still sqeek

, still grind

, and still feel lick they have air in the lines.

My 95's abs worked for awhile...first winter i had it, if i slid for awhile with the abs, the light would come on. If i slid short distances with the abs, the light would stay off and i would have abs some more.

When abs hit (abs has only hit for me on ice and snow), it made a horrible 'chunking' noise, the brake pedal shakes down and up, and basically it does squat. Now abs light is on, which disengages abs, and i can control my turns and stops now. Basically i feel much safer in the snow.

I have a 95 too. ABS light is on and I tried using a scan tool to get in a read the codes, but I couldnt even access the abs computer. Thinking I might have a bad abs computer. But like the rest of you, I actually prefer not having abs. Only problem is I want to sell it, and warning lights scare people off.

The thought has crossed my mind, but I am a dealer and could get into some serious $hit for deceiving a customer. Plus I just wouldnt feel right about it and I want my customers to be happy with their purchase.

you didn't do it.. you never knew their was a problem....yeah I would at least try to get it half taken care of to save myself from feeling like an asshole

when the abs engages in my truck it feels like the pedal is crumbling and makes loud noises, thats just the way it works. I do abs "checks" every now and then just to make sure its workin good

i was going to a flea market at about 20 MPH and I turned an my car did some serious hydroplaning. I hit the brakes and the abs kicked in, nearly almost hit a few huge cement barriers. Had this wierd rubber band twisting sound, kinda interesting. 2002 Blaz X

I think the most common prob with the abs is the speed sensors, and one little thing will throw the light and kill the abs.

Back in the day, my mom had a 94, repeat 94sunbird that had smoother abs.

Also, one thing i don't like about the 2-drs is that i would have to literally smash the brake pedal so hard i think i would break it before my tires locked up on dry pavement. Thats how my brakes have been ever since i got it, and even had them worked on.
