What's with my rear wiper? Look inside!
Hey guys my rear wiper, when you turn the switch, goes half way up, then stops and sticks and does what sounds like a drum-roll. Is it the motor or some other part I need to replace? I know a lot of people have trouble with them so I thought I would see whats up. 1999 GMC Jimmy BTW. Thanks.

Blazer rear wipers always break. I said screw it and left it alone. Not really worth fixing anyways.

mine used to do that before i shaved it. i took it apart once and the main gear was almost completely bald. it has enough teeth to get it half way up but not enough to get it down without a help hand. best bet is to go to a junk yard and pick up a new motor or shave it

Damn, that was fast. Yeah I took the motor out and took the case off and the teeth looked short, but they were all the same size so I couldn't really tell if they are broken are not. I'd say they are. Yeah, the general consensus is screw it or shave it, but I am one of the few that uses it. I spend quite a bit of time off road since I hunt and fish. Gravel roads aren't uncommon either for me, so its nice to get all the dirt and shiz off so I can see. Guess I will go check some yards. My luck, I will get a broken one just like mine. I have a buddy that works at a shop so maybe he can get me one at a discount. Thanks again.
