Exclamation Whats It take to get my front layin down all the way?

Hey Guys.

I not sure where to post on the site to get the most help/opinions but I thought I would try here 1st since it's a Jimmy.

Ok its a 99 jimmy and its already bagged.
modified stock control arms and stock spindles.

The tire size is
255/45 18

Obviously its the 4.3
abs blah blah blah.

So what would you guys do to lay it out harder?
No body drop yet thank you. lol

What would you reccomend?
Spindles?
or new control arms?
Upper/ lower or both?

For now i want the most reliable and bang for the buck.

Thanks
Taylor

Get yourself a set of drop spindles. How far is your truck from the ground when it is fully aired out?

You can get 3" drop control arms. But there for coils ONLY!
Just don't argue when someone tells you something next time

Re: Whats It take to get my front layin down all the way?

get drop spindles bro, then work from there. They only make spindles for blazers in 2'' but i have seen 3'' spindles in the past for s10's. They weren't from a reliable company though.

You can then see if you need to remove your inner fenders.

btw, truck looks really good bro, keep up the good work!

Dude!
That helps alot thanks!

The only thing im weary about is the brake lines.
They are all coiled and I would be afraid to mess with those.

Re: Whats It take to get my front layin down all the way?

also just so you know, the 2" spindles are the only ones you can get for your jimmy, gm changed them on the blazers/jimmys in 98, the s10 ones wont work, and they are a little more expensive also.

Re: Whats It take to get my front layin down all the way?

If your lowest point is 2" from the ground, then you'll be laying frame with the 2" drop spindles if your fenders dont hit the tires.

yeah i'm not sure of that myself. just go real slow and don't rush it. i have to ditch it since i need a new booster anyway. stock is too big for 20's on an s10. bagged blazers got it a little easier cause of the angle of the frame. if you do mess up a line i'm sure you can get some new stuff and try again. i don't know if making custom ones would work, the ABS might be calibrated for those lines only. i'm not a pro on brakes but just a thought.

Re: Whats It take to get my front layin down all the way?

yeah, those are trailer fenders. you would have to do probably all of the same stuff in the front, just not so extreme but you will still have a lot to do. its all the same as any other s10, relocating, notching, tubbing, new booster.

well don't forget that blazers have the angle on the frame so when it's layed out, the front wheel isn't quite as high. maybe like 1" or so, but it makes a difference with things like the blower box, slave cylinder, tie rods, and booster. i'm not saying it easier at all, you just don't have to do it as much as an s10.

Re: Whats It take to get my front layin down all the way?

what angle are you talking about? the frame is taller all around if thats what you meant to say. the crooked frame is just how the frame gets narrower over the rear axle.

Re: Whats It take to get my front layin down all the way?

i know it's taller, but it's taller in the front. look at yours how the front wheel well is higher than the back. on an s10 there is barely any difference. that is if it is laying out in the front. i know it's not a whole lot but you can tell. it would also mean that the tire goes up just a but further on an s10. there is still a lot of work involved to lay the front out on 20's regardless if it is a s10 or blazer.

Re: Whats It take to get my front layin down all the way?

yeah yours looks closer. i just look at the rocker angle compared to the ground. anyways you got a sick blazer. btw if you ditch A/C for that EDC (which you shouldn't), send me that blower box. i'm gonna need it soon.

Re: Whats It take to get my front layin down all the way?

mine is 2wd. and yes, 4wd does make it very difficult to do. you would have to remove it because the front shafts would bind, not to mention the suspension is designed completly different than a 2wd so it all has to be custom made.
