Re: What Bulb Is Used In The 4x4 Indicator?

My wife took my 96 Jimmy out of 4wd the other day and pushed the entire assembly into the dash so thought it a good time to replace the burned out bulb. Cannot find one anywhere in our area including dealer and internet. Here is a pic of the bulb. The part number is what the dealer gave me but it is for the bulb not including the blue plastic housing and cant get the bulb out of the housing. Any ideas? Thanks.

Re: What Bulb Is Used In The 4x4 Indicator?

Actually, the dealer was right but didn't know he was. The glass part comes out of the blue plastic and a new bulb plugs in. Mine came out very hard and the manager at CarQuest knew how to do it. Broke the glass, pried out what he could and stuck a paper clip into the hole on the backside the out came the rest. New bulb plugged right in.

yep i used needle nose pliers and broke the glass then held the wires in the pliers and pulled really, really hard to get it out.
