Weird noise at idle

Hello all.

My blazer has 194k miles on it, 4.3 auto 4x4 1996 4 door.

Recently it started making a weird rattling noise when idling. I THINK it only does it when cold, at least its more noticable then.

It's like a plastic something that isn't secured right. I don't know really. It's weird. When above 1500-2000 rpms, it appears to stop.

Any ideas?

Re: Weird noise at idle

My truck did that for the 8 years I've owned it. I thought it was the pump in the transmission going. I recently changed the transmission and now the noise is gone.

Does it change when it in drive or neutral?
