Water leak 97 blazer Rear liftgate

Hey fellas, can anyone tell me if they have ever experienced a water leak in the rear cargo area of their Blazer/Jimmy Etc?

I've been getting serious amounts of water when it rains. I pulled off the weather stripping and siliconed the inside channel, put the stripping back and the leak is still there.

I have a feeling its not from the door. Any common areas that leak? under the hinges? the roof rack drilled holes?

It could be comming from anywhere.

Thanks all for your advice.

best advice is get a buddy and sit in the cargo area with ur buddy spraying water on the top of the truck, have a flash light or anything and go around all the body pannels, see where the water is coming from

I had a similar problem. It turned out to be the third brake light. I removed it, put silicone around the mounting holes and reinstalled it. Haven't had a problem since.

Either the screws had become loose over time or the gasket is starting to dry out and crack.

Mines broken on one side so when it gets sprayed, it drips into the rear.
