Vaccum Problem

There is a loud Hissing sound comming from the back of my Climate control switch. It appears that on our blazers they went to a vaccum control type system but what i can't figure out if if there is a leak or if the hose shouldn't be sucking that much air through it.

Please help

Re: Vaccum Problem

Sorry the hissing sound is comming from the selector switch is what i meant. The Blue line going to it is sucking a lot of air and i am not sure if it is supposed to be or not. Maybe i need a new switch?

Re: Vaccum Problem

It's definately not supposed to be sucking air. A vacuum line may have come off or cracked. You'll need to get at the back of the selector switch to fix it.

Re: Vaccum Problem

the line connection is fine...when i took the switch apart it only makes that hissing noise when the little black rubber piece goes on (the piece that directs the air flow). So i have a feeling its the switch that needs replacing. What i don't know is if its the blue line thats supposed to be the constant vaccum on my year.

IDK if it's the blue line or not, but how many "full time" vacuum lines could there be? More than one wouldn't make any sense.
