Question V8 Motor Info For Jimmy

I Have A 2002 Jimmy With 4.3l It Is A Pig On Gas. Done Everything Possible To Regain More Mileige But No Luck. Then My Gm Dealer Said Its The Worst 4.3 Gm Ever Made. So I Want To Drop A V8 Into It. I Want A 5.7 Vortec. I Heard There Is A Full Size Truck With A 5.7 Vortec That Would Be A Direct Bolt In And Plug And Play And Just Have To Get My Factory Computer Reflashed. Anybody No More To Help Me Out.

Re: V8 Motor Info For Jimmy

i doubt you'll save gas with a V8, but it'll at lease be the same mileage i think...

don't think there is a direct bolt in though...

not sure on mileage comparison but if it gets the same mileage fine by me... more would be better but atleast you'll be able to burn gas and rubber.... atleast more than a 4.3 for sure.

A 2002 4.3L cant be the worst one ever made...I have the worst 4.3L ever made...The 95 CPI W-code block with the first year of OBDII on it...lol

As for tips on V8 swaps reference the V8 discussion page for more info.
