Tune up Question

well after 200,000km and 350-400km/tank of gas i think it's time for a tune up for my 2000 Envoy

called the dealership and asked them for pricing, well it ended up well over $1000

So that ain't gonna happen... what would you change when doing a tuneup?
also are the spark plugs a pain to pull out in terms of breakage? are the plugs easily accessable?

Re: Tune up Question

plugs, wires, fuel filter... is pretty much what youd do for a tune up... and the plugs are a bitch to get to... especially if youve never done it before

Re: Tune up Question

jack the truck up, maybe pull the wheels and you should be fine. I just did mine sunday and just raised the front with the wheels still on and was able to get to it. I have heard about pulling the steering shaft and moving that to make it alot easier to get to, do a search for that and you will understand better.

Re: Tune up Question

Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and fuel filter would be best.

Pull the steering shaft off the steering box to get at number 3 plug.
Pulling the wheels makes it easy to go threw the wheel well and get most of the plugs out.
You'll need some torx, T15 and T20 to get the cap and rotor off.

Wouldn't hurt changing driveline fluids, trans, t-case, front and rear dif.

Delco Platinums. I've had Bosch +4's, +2's, and a few others. Just stick with the stockers!
