Question Trailer Light Wiring

I installed a hitch a couple years ago on my 2000 Jimmy but never bothered to wire up the trailer light harness. I looked at doing it in the past but could not find a wiring harness that would simply hook into the existing wiring harness, all i really found was something about wiring it into the brake light or something like that. Does anyone know if they do make a wire harness that simply snaps into the existing wiring, whati need to do, or where i can find the harness?
