Re: Towing

are you serious?

they go 5th wheel cause of weight... you think your ZR2 is that big?

I wouldn't do it if i were you...

power is one thing, but stopping is another...

Re: Towing

I think that the 4X4 is rated at 4500# for towing. I'd feel fine with that or real close to it.

Stopping is a matter of good brakes. You would need a good electric set-up and you should be fine.

Re: Towing

You'll be limited to a double axle tag-along with your truck.

I wouldn't even be comfortable with a 5th on a fullsize, unless it was a 3/4 ton with the upgraded rear axle, brakes, cooling, and suspension.

The point of the 5th on a camper is for campers that are so big that wind tends to really sway them. Putting the weight over the back axle and using a pintle helps stabilize them more than a ball hitch. Plus, having it there keeps the trailer from steering the truck when a semi passes you.

Think smaller. 5ths are way cumbersome anyhow. If she needs that much luxury, find a 4 star hotel.

Re: Towing

I'm thinking he meant to say a caravan/trailer of some sorts and not a 5th wheel. A 5 wheel uses that large towing hitch to attach itself to the bed of full sized trucks. Just wrong words but you can tow a small trailer with no problem.
