Took luggage rack off a '01 2dr

That was pretty damn simple actually! No 3M tape or anything once you get the 8 screws out..which were pretty tightly screwed in, but once you get em unscrewed the rack came right off. Only thing that sucks is that the rack kinda left a light imprint where it was screwed on so hard to the body and since I have a white Blazer it kinda shows, but other than that it looks great! I just put the screws back in the holes. Chevy should have just left it like this from factory..I mean it's an SUV, put your luggage in the back haha

Yeah, the outlines suck balls. It left kind of a dark marking where it was pressed..concentrated dirt I guess? It was pretty filthy up under there somehow?

Re: Took luggage rack off a '01 2dr

On a side note. FAWK I got my first door ding/scratch! Ahh this sucks, I was at Sam's Club and I guess some fat bastid needed that 5 pound bag of Oreos pretty bad. The friggin scratch starts with some left/right movements from ass cheek wiggling from the jerk that has to kick open his car door... from then it goes straight down like almost a friggin inch I guess from where his shocks musta been bottoming out as he/she rolled out of said vehicle. Damn, I know my Blazer's a daily driver and all, but it made it 4 years and 34k miles without a scratch! until NOW! ugh! It's so deep too..took out the clear and paint..Oh well, I guess these things happen

WANTED!!!! Rack Mounts

Hey All, I need the pass side roof mounts from a blazer. I ripped my rack completely off yesterday off roading. All I need are the passenger side mounts, no rails or anything else.

Re: Took luggage rack off a '01 2dr

I have some lines where I took it off, but I washed, hit it with the clay bar, and used some touch up paint, then waxed...and you can barely tell

Word, wash+rubbing compound+paint cleaner+wax all of those should make a good difference, try some detailing solutions. Mine has fairly permanenet marks but since I did all the detail work to it you can barely tell. Also PAIINT YOUR SCREWS! It will look 100X cleaner and you wont even notice the screws are there

Re: Took luggage rack off a '01 2dr

Can I get a pic of the holes left in the roof from the screws? I am thinking about removing the rack off my '99 Jimmy.

I have removed the roof rack off of mine. Go to www.z-34.com and click on 1999 Blazer for pictures.

Re: Took luggage rack off a '01 2dr

hmmm, just took my roof rack off of my '01 and i had none of these outlines you're talking about. It was hella dirty that was about it but just wiped off with a wet rag and it was fine.
