timing belt / chain
2001 trailblazer 4.3 posi, does this truck have a timing chain or a belt? should i have it replaced every so often? its kind of sluggish when I'm off and on the gas, not smooth at all, is this the problem?

Re: timing belt / chain
that's definitely not your problem. When your timing chain breaks, your engine won't run. As far as I'm concerned, the chain is designed for the service life of the engine.

Re: timing belt / chain
ok thanks, then any idea of what would cause the engine to run kinda sluggish? like if I hit the brakes then get back on the gas its not real smooth to accelerate again, almost like it slams into gear to accel or something, not real bad but noticable.
thanks |

Re: timing belt / chain
do a tuneup with cap, wires, plugs, air filter, pcv valve, and fuel filter and i bet you'll feel a difference
wont cost you much more than $100 |
