Does any one have exprience or advice on dropping the fuel tank on a 2000 jimmy to change the fuel pump???????????

its a job but not that bad. drain all the fuel u can out of it then diconnect the filler tube from the tank undo tthe straps and drop it down a lil bit so u can get to the wires and hoses. disconnect the wires and hoses and drop the tank. once the tank is out from under the truck spray pb blast or wd 40 around the ring and let it soak for about 20 to 30 min. there is a ring on the outside part that u have to twist around either with a strait screw driver or blunt chisel and hammer, be careful not to force it and break the tabs then it will be alot of fun. once u get it broke loose and the ring off make sure to wipe off the top so that nothing drops in then pull the pump out.

the hardest part is wrestling the tank out out then back in, not a super hard job, just annoying

thanks for the help I made sure there wasnt alot of fuel in the tank since i have known for a while that the fuel pump was going out. there is about 1 or 2 gallons in it
