Swapping guage clusters
hi all, i bought a guage cluster with a tach from a 2001 blazer and when i tried to put it in my 98 blazer it halfazzed worked, do i need one from a year closer to mine

yes you need a 98 model to have it all work correctly now thier will be people that say thats not true but.. i have had buyers have this problem and now you are too ..

i also bought a hypertech that was in a 2000 s-10 and the book that comes with it says 1998-2000 but it says it isn't for this vehicle???? any ideas on that

You gotta buy a cluster from the same year, and if you have a manual, get one from a manual also. and visa versa with an auto. If you mix and match, they will work, but you loose some functionality. i.e the clusters for an auto have the gear indicator (PRND321). I got a cluster with a tach from a '99 s-10(manual) and put it in my '02 sonoma(auto) It works perfect except.
1. The milage is wrong. (this will always happen: It will show the milage from the old truck) 2. I don't have a Gear Indicator (but who cares, as long I know what gear I'm in...) |
