Static drop blazer

Would it be stupid to do a static drop on a 4x4 ? Looking to only lower the front end a lil give it a more aggessive stance.

I am not into lifting, and bagging a 4x4 seems wrong on so many levels, but some input would be nice. Nothing big, it seems the stock ride high looks high in the front I want it to be the reverse.

wow man, it put a smile on my face. good to know that im recognized...haha may seem.

but you can do a small drop by just adjusting your stock torsion keys or remove the adjuster bolts, might at most give you 2inches (maybe). your best bet is to do Belltech keys and then you'll be adjustable from 1-3inches. I'm at about 4.5 in the front and 3 in the rear. let me know if you need anymore info!

Re: Static drop blazer

lol, you wouldnt happen to have a side profile of your Blazer (STILL4WD) ?

I am trying to get ideas, before I jump in headfirst into lowering or anything for that matter.

Blk_Blazer you got a nice ride..no doubt it was actually yours that pushed me over the hump to get a Blazer instead of another S10,

Congrats you have just been Recognized !

I love the chrome bumper and the mirrors..

The drop is so clean, thats like EXACTLY what I am looking for..didn't think I'd have to drop it as much as you said but you nailed it, looks great..

What size rims are you sittin on ?

Re: Static drop blazer

eurethane valance...20's for the wheels

If you're using your truck as a real daily I would suggest 18's with a real nice tire to take the pot holes or do a 3/3 drop and do 20's with a nice meaty tire.

I think i paid like 3 and change for the drop kit but got jacked b/c he sent me S10 leaf springs instead of Blazers. so it was 3 and change for the kit plus the 50 i spent getting blocks, I installed them myself at school, so it worked out pretty good b/c i sold the springs.

The airdam I got on Ebay but you can them on Stylinconcepts.com
Its the Street Scene Gen. IV i believe.

It's pretty easy to install the kit just have to becareful when you're letting down the keys. you should check out blazinlow.com and read up on the 4x4 section. Good information on there! and lots of pictures of lowered 4x4's.

Re: Static drop blazer

3 in change as in $3000 or $300, I have been lookin at kits for like $300US..

I cannot seem to find a 4/3 drop kit..only a 3/3 and a 2/3 -- only seem to find belltech kits for up to 97 blazers..on Stylin Concepts :S

Nothing is different from say a 98+ 2dr 4x4 to my 2005 ?
so would a kit fit on my 2005 ?

Re: Static drop blazer

yeah $300 not $3000!

from 98+ everything is the same. I would search Ebay or check the Classifieds on here or on BlazinLow.com for just the torsion keys. Unless you wanted to do the 3inch leafs in the rear instead of blocks you could buy the whole kit. Just look for keys and get a set of 3inch blocks, thats the easiest and least expensive way to go.

Re: Static drop blazer

i bought the shocks and then sold them, in the rear drop shocks wont be necessary if you do blocks because ur not changing the distance of the shock mounts however in the front i regret not changin them when i had then chance. not that its crazy rough ride but it would make a difference.

Re: Static drop blazer

Internet searching isn't my forte, I would like to get em off the net because it seems everything aftermarket in my area from retailers cost me a whole hell of a lot more.

Could you maybe link me what I need, so I can order it, cause I am having a hell of a time finding it, I am really new to suspension so I don't want to buy seperate parts incase I forget something. I have no idea what I need and where I can get em..so if you know of any places if you could link me the exact product. Or anyone could I would love that.

Sorry for botherin you so much :S

wouldn't new new shocks in the rear make for a better ride?

So far I have been trying to piece together a kit for myself,

Rear Drop Block kit - Found that (Not sure if its universal or I need special one for 4x4)
Torsion Keys - Cannot find any for sale online
Belltech Nitro drop shocks x2 or x4

Would I need anything else ? New coil springs ?

Edit : Found this ====> http://www.stylinconcepts.com/part.a.../categoryid/30
says it only works for a 82-04 s10 4x4 will it work with my blazer, if so great..I will order it tomorrow, also what else will I need?..
shocks and coilsprings for example

Re: Static drop blazer

well you wouldnt need coils because our trucks dont have any, the front suspension works off the torsions bars. the shocks, im not going to tell you dont get them, from the ride i have now, i probably should have put them in the front at least! I havent had time to search for the keys but if i find anything ill def let you know.

Re: Static drop blazer

as long as the setup on an 2nd gen s10 4x4 is the same as the blazer, then that will be what I am looking for.

I plan on getting the shocks because one thing I always hated about 4x4 SUV's was the rough ride, I really only based my opinion on my parents 99' Ford Explorer (feel every bump rides like crap). I am trying to get the nicest ride I can get with a nice clean looking drop, and a nice set of wheels and low profile tires.. 18 or 20 havent decided yet.

Thats the route I wanted to go with the wheels. Unforetunetly they would have stuck out too far in the front. You would need spacers right because u have a 2x4?

i dont have to get as big a spacer as everyone else b/c i cound a set of 17.8.5's that had a 15" offset. so at the biggest i will need about a 1/2-1" spacer. you have a 4x4 so they should fit fine since yall have those crazy offsets like the maro's and vettes.
