Spacers on an 03 Blazer

I bought some vette rims for my 03 blazer, and the people at all of the tire places were telling me that spacers come off all of the time, thats why they wont install them....has anyone had bad experiences with spacers??? id like to know, cause im not gunna put them on if its gunna be a hassle...

don't get spacers. get adapters. you bolt the adapter to your hub, then the wheel to the adapter. you basically by the 5x4.75 bolt pattern to 5x4.75 bolt pattern. i never had problems when i ran camaro ss 17x9s on my old sonoma. i dogged it as much as i could for being a 4.3 w/ 3.08 gears.

do a search you'll find a lot on adapters.

and make sure you use some loctite. the first set of wheels i wanted to buy didnt come in the right pattern so i thought about spacers but the guy at the place also didnt like spacers or adapters. i feel a lot better about having the wheels bolt straight to the hub.

2wd or 4wd? if 4wd, you wont even need spacers, but, yeah, adapters are better, but, most people run spacers with no probs because its cheaper....

my buddy has a 02 sportrac on 20's. He has 1" spacers in the rear and one unbolted and ****ed the whole side of the bed up. It was funny.

Re: Spacers on an 03 Blazer

wheel and tire shops won't install spacers/adapters because of liability issues. I've personally never used them, however I see a lot of people on here with vette/f-body wheels with zero problems. I hope this helps.

I have adapters on the back of my Blazer to bring out the rear tires to match the fronts. I have not had any issues and I beat the crap out of my truck.

Re: Spacers on an 03 Blazer

if you get spacers you should try to get longer studs. that is why most people run into problems. not enough thread to keep tight.
