Side Vent windows-98' 2dr Blazer
Anyone know of an alternate source besides factory for the side vent windows on a 98' 2dr blazer? The rubber is all tearing off and I already got ripped off on Ebay. If I have to go to GM, anyone know a price for these? The reason I'm asking is the only other GM dealership is out of town for me and the local one is seriously high priced.
Thanks for reading, Aaron |

Consider going to a junk yard, you'd be surprised what you might come across.

Re: Side Vent windows-98' 2dr Blazer
djhurt1,
For most things a yard is a great place to find parts you don't want to spend an arm and a leg on. However, I do caution you for going to a yard for things like window and door seals/gaskets and the like. Items like that could have problems. Those trucks sit out in all of the elements and are not protected by anything. They just sit there and rot. You could very well go to the yard and get them and they'll work fine, but I wouldn't do it. I suggest checking an auto parts supply and see what they charge you for the part(s) before going to the yard. ~M~ |

Re: Side Vent windows-98' 2dr Blazer
I have had spectacular luck with these guys, Albert Lea auto parts.
I actually visited them on my last trip through Minnesota to pick up a set of seats and a center console for my '95 S10. The staff was very professional, and ALL parts are removed from the vehicles, taged and stored indoors. They are E-bay users, but look at their positive feedback. They also offer free shipping on any part that can be shiped Via UPS. They are in the middle of nowhere, so most of their business is mail order. They really do a great job. I will buy from them again. Even though they may not have your vent windows listed, I'm sure they have them. They are a large operation. Hope this helps, Unfortunatley I bet anywhere other than a yard is going to be $$$ for those vents. |

Well let me ask this then. The moulding on the windows appears to be permanately attached to the glass. Does anyone know of a way to remove the old moulding, keep the glass, and buy new moulding/seals? It does seem a shame that everytime someone needs new moulding/seals, they have to replace the glass to.
