Shaved window vents any problems?

I just shaved my rear side window vents on the blaze. Does anyone know what these are for. Will i have any water leak problems? Thanks[/IMG]

ventilation. is it any harder to close the door with all the windows up.

Not any harder that ive noticed. It seems like when ive got the side vent windows and windows down i get a strong exhaust smell?
