RHD Blazer Parts.
OK Ok Ok. Brian, I did PM you.
I get a lot of guys both here, blazerforum.com & gmtruckforum.net asking about my trucks flairs & tail lights. So I spoke to the Chevy guys & this is the story. READ SLOWLY & CAREFULLY - Make sure your mouth is empty! FLARES: As yet they have not yet needed to find new flares for our trucks. They believe they're no longer available. At this point anyone wanting them will get them off a wreck or one of the "spare parts" trucks they import. If colour is an issue - tough! You get what's available - or you wait. Because the flares are usually the first to get damaged, they move pretty quick & OF COURSE they're priced accordingly. Their price is NZ$250 per wheel! (1k full set) plus shipping. TAIL LIGHTS - The 4 bulb with orange turn signal. Again same story as above. Price is NZ$120 each ($240 a pair) Plus shipping. Currently 1 kiwi dollar is worth .5497 US. Anyone interested after recovering from their heart attack - I'm happy to work as a go between. LASTLY - I've been asked to get a price on a "Front Clip". Section of the body from just in front of the front seats to the firewall includig dash, all wiring, brake booster & whatever is attached to the firewall. Oh yea, also the steering box. Not sure about the steering wheel. Anyway, everything you need to convert to RHD is included. Of course there are no body panels as they're all the same RHD & LHD. This'll cost a mere NZ$2,000 plus shipping. |

Re: RHD Blazer Parts.
As an example, & I know this is the other way round but, when I bought my projectors on e-bay they cost US$84 & US$200 for shipping! Then I got stung some for GST & import duty!. (This all kicks in above 400kiwi $). And travy - you'd have been lucky to find any in Christchurch. This stuff is all in Auckland. I've had guys from down there ask where to find stuff for the 'ol Blaze. SO, now you all understand my predicament. Man, if I could only fly to the US & come back with gifts! But then my excess luggage bill ....... LOL Last edited by kiwiblazer : 04-01-2009 at 05:13 PM. |

Re: RHD Blazer Parts.
but i wonder if the trucks overseas used zr2 style fenders that have a mounting lip, and holes drilled all around the fender crease, and cut out wider? if so, you will have to buy zr2 fenders also, and make the rear work by welding cutting the wheel arch to the right size, then welding a lip, then drilling some holes all in the right spots.

Re: RHD Blazer Parts.
How does the ZR2 fender differ from the normal Blazer. Aren't the body panels all the same? except for the body kit.

Re: RHD Blazer Parts.
ZR2 has a different lip on the fender that the flare attaches to.

Re: RHD Blazer Parts.
ALL GOES QUIET! -------very quiet!
Prices must have scared the s*** out of everyone. If only New Zealand wasn't at the bottom of the planet! Oh, & K Dawg ONE - Maybe I should get a picture of a fender without the flare on - in case it's a ZR2 fender? I'd hate to see guys buy these only to find they don't fit. I'll visit the Chevy guys later today. |

Re: RHD Blazer Parts.
Right! Just been to the Blazer guys.
Seems the fender flares just fit over the stock US flares. No lip. So, it is effectively a flare over a flare. Who knows why GM would have done that. Here are a few pics that I was able to get from a truck with missing/damaged flares. Last edited by kiwiblazer : 04-13-2009 at 07:27 AM. |

Re: RHD Blazer Parts.
Sorry about the double posting but, it's just occured to me - given that with the "overseas" flares & stock wheels the Blazers here actually look stupid.
I attach a few pics of the rear end with stock vs my wheels so you can see what I mean. Truck looks as if it would roll over easily.![]() Last edited by kiwiblazer : 04-13-2009 at 07:27 AM. |

Re: RHD Blazer Parts.
Hey Brad,
If you're interested, you can contact the guys directly. I'm not getting a cut out of it. Just tell them that I (Ken) referred you & they will sort you out. http://www.bunce.co.nz/contact.php Just remember, 1. as I've said before, these are used units but will definately be in good condition. 2. They may charge extra if you want the wiring harness (4 bulb) but I don't think it will be of use to you as the connection to your main harness will be different to what's in your truck. The 4th light is for the rear fogs (that's the bottom lamp) but you may have a different use for it. 3. Also, do not forget the shipping & handling charges. They've not shipped anything to the US before so this is new for them. I attached wiring diagram for the fogs but to resize to forum limits they've not come out. Sorry, I need to find how to do it that it's legible. Last edited by kiwiblazer : 04-13-2009 at 07:27 AM. |
