replacing hood release cable,how?

I have 97 Blazer and need to replace the hood release cable. My problem is the cable currently on the truck is already ripped out. I ordered one from lmctruck.com but it has no instructions. Can anyone help me with this, I have no clue, thanks.

Can't remember much of the 1st gens, but you may wanna try the Hayne's manual. Most of the time you can find one "open" and look at what ya need to do.

If I remember correctly, it should just thread through the firewall around the inner fender on the driver's side, then up under the rad support to the release. I could be wrong, cause I haven't messed witha 1st gen since my 88
